Is this good pay for my age and experience? I have been working here for a about 15 months. I started at $10 and am now at $14.

I take home roughly a $1000 every two weeks.

Is this good pay for my age of 21?

What is the average income for a 21 year old?

Thanks!

  1. Yeah that pretty good for just about anywhere now.

Where you live has a lot to do with it also.

If you lived in say South Alabama that would be really good. If you lived in Los Angeles, CA it wouldn't be too good.

  2. That's really good! It's easily more than enough to make a living. Keep at it, because the pay will probably go even higher depending on how hard you work.

So, yes. It's good for your age and experience.

  3. YEAH!

Plus that is a large increase for such a short amount of time.

  4. That is pretty good money.  I was not making that much when I turned 21 in 2004.

Let me just offer a bit of advice.   Around now, you will most likely start getting credit offers all over the place.  People will practically throw credit at you.  If you decide to get a credit card or get a car loan, or anything like that...truly only do 1 thing at a time.  If you get a card, spend SMALL amounts on it and pay it off every month.  Keep that up for a year before you get any more credit lent to you.  This is so you can stay on top of the situation and not get financially overwhelmed.  It happens easily when the lenders are like packs of wolves.

Also - save, save, SAVE.  In retrospect, if I had saved just $1000 before moving out and $2000 before buying my first new car, I would be in a much better credit situation than I am now by living paycheck to paycheck.  If you follow this advice, you won't regret it!!

  5. Girl!!!  Keep THAT job!!!   And can you get me in there too?!   haha
