I am 23 and my girlfriend is 41, she still has a problem with the age difference, what do I do?

We have been dating for a year now. I basically live with her, I spend every night with her at her house. We go out all the time when her ex has the kids and she is fine doing stuff with me but has a tough time giving a little PDA. Holding hand, kissing, arm around the shoulder, that type of thing. I mean she is the hottest woman I have ever seen can you blame me? She just has a tough time with the age difference still, even after a year. I know she loves me and I love her but there are just those few situations where she needs to make it clear that we are together. I'm tried of going toe to toe with all these older men cause they don't get the picture.

She may continue to have a tough time with the age difference for a while, look at the age difference. I would sit down and talk to her, that age is not anything but a number. Now that is only if you are mature enough to understand that. Find out beside the age difference the reason she is still feeling that way.

Try to work it out, if she still continues that, then maybe you should be friends and see how that goes. Obviously it is on her conscious and if it is on her conscious that bad, then she shouldn't try to force herself. Life is all about experiences. Remember that. Hope this helps.

she probably feels awkward about PDA because to others it may seem like she is fondling around with her kid or her kid's friend

41!!!!? That's just nasty! I don't mind if my bf is a couple of years older, but 41 . . . come on now! If you can get a 41 year old, you shouldn't have any problems getting a girl your age. Its not about you being seen w/ arm candy. Maybe that is how she feels when it comes to PDA .

Let me tell you, I'm in my late 40's and if I had a younger b-friend l'd be bragging you up! Not sure why she is insecure about your age difference, I'm thinking if after a year of dating she's not going to change. You can try to get to the bottom of this or move on and it sounds like you don't want to do that. So when she puts you in a situation your uncomfortable with pull her aside and call her on it!!!! Not sure what she's thinking.

nice man!!! you got quite the gf then lol but you gotta remember she probably feels akward cause your so young compared to her and she has ten times more the experience so i can see why shes feelin all weird just treat her like shes ur friend but she is ur gf and she will start to warm up to you more and more

I hear you. I'm 19 and my boyfriend is turning 40. We've been dating for 5 months now and most of the times we go out, people probably think he is my dad. And I can see that he feels uncomfortable, so I kiss him or I dont know get even closer, try to show him that I dont care about anyone, but him. I just learned to ignore them, and keep going. Don't let people's opinions be an obstacle for your happiness. Its just not worth it.
