Help!! I have already gained 30 pounds, and I am just 23 weeks along!! I am walking, and eating right. I don't know what I could be doing wrong!! This is my third baby, and I didn't gain near this much with my first 2.

I need some advice! I had an ultrasound and they said that my baby is about 1 pound right now. Does this sound right? What are some ways that I could control my weight gain in a way that is healthy for my baby?

  1. its natural .

it might mean its making more room for the baby

which might mean you will have a pretty big baby !

    good luck ;D

  2. You only need an extra 300 calories per day to sustain a healthy pregnancy.

Has your doctor thought about doing a glucose test early?  Could be gestational diabetes?

I'm also pregnant with my third..32 weeks along and I've only gained about 8 pounds.

I would really voice your concern to your doctor.

  3. i dont know how else tou can control it. im in the same boat im 18 weeks tomorrow ans ive gained 20 lbs...well that was as of last tuesday who knows what it is now. im also worried because most people i know have only gained like 7 lbs by now. i didnt have morning sickness so that may have contributed but still..

i walk and eat as best i can it just isnt working....your not alone

  4. By eating right, what exactly do you mean? Some people think they are eating a healthy balanced diet when they aren't. Drinking 8-10 glasses water a day will aid in making you feel fuller. Eating fruits and vegetables will help with extra vitamin intake.

Most women think that when they are pregnant they must eat for two. This is simply untrue. Your baby only needs 300 extra calories added on to your normal daily caloric intake. You really only need to gain weight in the third trimester.

Don't worry, I know women that have gained 60-90lbs during their pregnancy. Each one is very different, but if you are truly concerned about your weight gain please do speak with your healthcare provider.

    Good luck!

  5. Don't worry about it. As long as you're exercising and eating right- just be happy with whatever happens. If your doctor doesn't say anything about it, then don't worry. I am 38 weeks and I've gained almost 60 lbs. I'm 5'9'' and no one can believe I've gained that much because I just carry it in my bellly and in my baby :) Just relax and it will be fine. Just keep being healthy! Congrats!
