  1. a friend of mine had a similar problem.  he took a job on an oil rig.  two weeks on and two weeks of and he makes about 8000 per month before taxes.  you should also look into moving.  engineers have to go to where things are being built.  also at 23 you need some hands on experience.  start low in a construction company and work your way up.  the high paying jobs take years to work your way into.

  2. Go find a company that employs electrical engineers then try to get a job there tell them upfront that you have a degree in that field and that is where you would like to be in the long run. But you will do anything they have open for now no matter what it is. Then if nothing else you might be able to network through them. That is how I got into my field I am a graphic artist but I took a job a proofer and then just worked my way up through the company. I now supervise a group of graphic artist.

  3. Why can't you get a job in your mastered field? You have a masters. Are you sure you are looking hard enough?

  4. Office job, man.  Lots of kids out of college get them and I know an engineer who works as an analyst at a hedge fund so you could do that.  However, a masters degree is a respected accomplishment and I'm surprised you didn't have a job lined up after graduation, or at least an internship that led into a job.  That's odd to me.

Many times colleges will help recent grads find their way after graduation.  You could check w/ them to see if they have any post-grad career services available.  If not, you may just have to suck it up until you figure things out and be a receptionist.
