We both work full time in Sales, and own a property in the UK, initially we would like to move for a year with the possibility to stay forever.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

  1. Go to Australia house and ask for help, or check out the immigration website

  2. Your starting point should be the Australian Government Immigration and Citizenship website:

    http://www.immi.gov.au/

Entry to Australia for everyone except bona fide tourists staying for up to 3 months is strictly limited to workers with particular skills and experience in occupations with vacancies unable to be filled by Australians. Go into the .immi website to the http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/index.htm page and investigate the basic requirements. Check out the SOL and take the points test. You MUST have skills on the SOL and you MUST score sufficient points. If you fall short in either area, you will not be granted a visa. End of story - no appeal possible.

You will not be able to use the working Holiday visa option as at 32, your husband is outside the age range.

Don't waste money on employing an immigration agent. They cannot obtain visas for anyone who would not otherwise have been granted one and have no influence whatsoever.

  3. you need to be skilled in an occupation that Australia needs, you have to pass a point system test to see if you qualify or immigration

    http://www.immi.gov.au/index.htm

  4. www.immi.gov.au

this is the web site you will need to check, all the info you need is is this

  5. immigration to Australia is based on a points system , and in order to get points  you need to have skills  that earn these points ....ie  .a trade or qualification gets around 70 points .every year  they change the amount of points needed to emmigrate .... you can only use one candidate's points ok ...... so depending on who's best qualified .they apply and the partner  has to prove they are .married , or defacto , ( defacto means , your relationship is a fact wether legally recognised or not , because here in Australia defacto ( or common law ) wife is recognised  ..........go to the embassy web site  they have all they have all the details , , and by the way  you need a lot of money to "buy " your way in , owning a house means nothing  here .and sales positions  are not skilled labour .........but if you have  hairdressing skills do a short course  you might get the  points you need ......best  thing to do firstly is get a 12 months temp visa .then decide  if its 4 u ...........lots of people come here and dont like it .........they miss their mates .......the bread from the local  bakery ........... newky browns ............ but its  a great adventure ,  this is the new world ......... and the weather is  best you will ever  have on this earth .you know  we get clear skies here for days on end .nothing  up there cept the sun !! ....good luck
