I am almost 7 months pregnant and I have only gained 9 lbs. so far. Is this a normal amount of weight to gain in this amount of time because it doesn't sound like enough. I am glad that I haven't gained excessively, but 9 lbs. doesn't sound healthy. BTW I am eating normal and i do not smoke.

  1. I gained weight pretty slowly with both my pregnancies. I had spurts at 8 and 9 months. In fact I had only gained 9 lbs at 32 weeks then 2 weeks later I was up 5 more. I only gained 18 lbs with my daughter and 17 with my son. You don't have to gain 50 lbs just because you're pregnant. Just continue eating normally NOT over eating. You'll have less to lose once you deliver! Good Luck!

  2. It depends on how much you weighed to begin with. If you are overweight you are only supposed to gain 15 to 20lbs. I'm 30 weeks and have only gained 3lbs. With my first pregnancy I only gained 11lbs. total.

  3. With my second pregnancy I only gained a total of 11 pounds, and had a healthy 9 pound baby girl!  So...I guess it all evens out somewhere!!  Good luck!

  4. normal is different for everybody! i can't remember how much i had gained at your gestation but i didn't gain a single pound until i was 14 weeks and from then i gained about 2-3 lbs a month. now i'm 35 weeks and have gained 26 lbs. as long as you are eating a balanced diet and getting enough protein you'll be fine. some people just don't gain very much weight for pregnancy and other's can't help but gain more.

  5. I am 29 weeks pregnant and have only gained 11 pounds.  I am all baby..I dont pig out.  Everyones body is soo different.  My girlfriend is due 2 weeks after me and she has gained 20...as long as the doctor says your are fine, dont worry about it, just make sure you are eating healthy!

  6. with my first i gained weight with my second i lost weight about 2 stone weirdly i ate healthily no changes really and she was born on time perfect at 6lbs 7oz

so i wouldnt worry about anything unless you felt ill at all.

  7. Your fine. i've gained 19 total and i'm at 41 weeks. if the dr isnt worried, dont worry.

  8. everyone is different and the weight gain guidelines in the books and everything are generalized.  for example, i am 37w3d and i have gained 14 pounds...i started out on the heavier side and my doctors are thrilled with my weight gain (or lack thereof).  the baby is measuring to be 6+ lbs and healthy, so there is no concern...this is a perfect weight for me.  my friend however is 26 weeks and has only gained 6 lbs and she is VERY thin and her doctors are VERY concerned and are telling her she has to gain more weight...i think every pregnancy is different and if you are eating healthy and not dieting you should be okay, as long as your doctors aren't concerned.  they will tell you if there is anything wrong, but don't be afraid to bring it up and ask them, that's what they are there for.  best of luck!!!

  9. as long as the doctor says the babys heathly thats all that should matter......GOOD LUCK

  10. I EAT ALOT! lol.

Im 30 weeks pregnant...Ive gained 11 lbs at my last checkup...

Im sure mmore by now- ive been eating chocolate alot more lately..

Some women(me) grow in spurts...I shot up 6 lbs in one month!

  11. yeah its normal every woman is different just take your prenatal vitamins and if your eating good there should be a problem! =)

  12. I started out a bit heavy, and have gained less than 15 lbs by 34 weeks.  My doctor said it was fine.  Ask your doctor, but if they haven't expressed any concern, they probably aren't worried about your weight gain.  It's also possible you may have lost some weight in the early weeks due to appetite changes and then gained even more back.
