Hi, I am pregnant with a baby girl and my partner and I still can't agree on a name. I am now 3 days overdue, so we need to come up with a name pretty quick!! The only thing we have agreed on is that her middle name will be Ann (as thats both our mums middle name). He likes simple, common first names such as Emma or Emily whereas I really want something a bit more unusual. He adamantly doesn't want anything too "pretentious" or "long" (as he puts it!). The surname begins with V and is quite foreign sounding (sorry, didn't want to put the whole surname online) Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I've put a few questions on here before regarding names and have found the answers really helpful, although we still haven't come up with anything!

  6. My daughter is Hannah which means gift of god.

However this was a compromise name as hubby didn't like my more adventurous taste.

How about Daisy, Jasmine, Isabella, Chloe, Jessica, Maria, Polly all of which are not unusual just not as common or maybe something that sounds simple but has an unusual spelling - Aoife (Eva).

  7. Well I have a pretty childish name... So dont give her one of those names that only sound good until your about 18...  Need something elegant, mature, and lady like... I have always been a fan of Victoria or Vivica or even Jasmine... If you want to jazz it up you can name her Yasmine... Not too long of names... I like Vivica the most though... Then her monograms will be VAV...:)

Maybe you could chose a simple, common name but change the spelling?

    Eg. Emma - Emmah

          Carly - Karlie

Choose names you both like and mix them up for a truly original name?

Choose ancestors names and mix up the letters to create a modern unique name?

    Hope I helped x

  11. I'm having a boy - but if I were having a girl she'd be named

    Adyson Grace Louise.

I like the name Adyson - addison - addyson... but Grace is also a name you could maybe agree on! :)

  20. How about Grace or Ava

  21. One of my favorite baby girl names is Bella or the longer version Isabella.

  22. I agree that you should keep it somewhat simple with having a hard last name. But Emma and Emily just don't flow right with Ann. Have you been to the baby name Wizard website? The link is below, it's a great help.

  23. I don't think Emma sounds good with Ann at all.  Emma Ann runs together because of all the A's, like "Emmann".  Emily Ann works.  Compromise on something simple and well known but not so popular as Emma or Emily (point out there will be tons of Emmas and Emilys in her generation and she will feel one of the crowd).

    Alice

    Brooke

    Claire

    Dana
