Question:

I am 32 years old and will be attending college this fall. Do you think my age will make it easier or harder?

I am a bit nervous about going to back to school with people allot younger than me. I am a mother of 4 and have not attended school for along time. I guess I'll be going "back to school shopping" for myself as well as my children (weird). I'm excited but scared as well. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated....

Im sure you will be fine. Just try to be friends with some of the people in your courses. That way you have people if you have any questions. There may be other people there in your situation. Who knows...you might find people who know what you are going through.

i am so happy for you! i think that you are going to have maturity on your side...while the 18 and 19 year olds are worried about boys and parties you are gonna be kicking their butts academically! Also I know that as an adult we take less for granted, so over all i think that you will have a clear advantage. the only hard part is the fact that the younger ppl college is 100% of their life and for you it is just a small fraction. you may find that you have to end up working harder then they seem to be...but i think you will do grea! I went to college when I was 18 and started my Master's Degree when I was 32. I think it was much easier for me at 32 than at 18. As an 18 year old, I was still concerned with having a good time. During my second go around, my goals were more clearly defined. My GPA was much better! Don't be concerned about the ages of other students, I am sure that there will be others your age or older!Good luck- I think you will do just fine.

It will probably be tougher for you than you younger classmates simply because they just got out of high school and all the information they learned it still fresh in their minds. You'll be fine as long as you work hard and study =) Good luck and congrats on going back to school!
