my doctor offered me to get induced to be sure that she will be clear to deliver my baby....I am so happy about that. She said once I get to 38 weeks she will induce me. Has anyone been induced and how was the experience, i heard it was much more painful.....what are your thoughts on that?

  1. goodluck =]

and congrats on ur baby !

  2. I was induced but it wasnt that painful for me. I was actually having contractions the night before, but they still had to break my water. I got the epidural. So I think the most painful thing for me was the contractions.

  3. I couldn't wait to have my son when I was pregnant but I chose not to induce and do what is best for him and I waited until he was ready.

  4. hi i was induced by using the long hook to break my waters and it was very painful afterwards my waters were gushing out every few mins with every contraction i had, and the contractions were coming very fast and hard but i think thats why my baby went into cardiac arrest in the womb and she had to be delivered by ventouse vacuum, her heart couldnt handle the strong and fast contractions. And then again my labour was very fast because of it which was great, i went to hosp at 6:30am and had her at 9:50am, but u know what, i cant compare it to any other birth experience cos i only have 1 child, if i had 2 different types of births then i could judge probably but labour is painful no matter what way the baby comes out, even with c-section babies the moms are in labour for days on end, so its up to u.

  5. well i am 34 and 6 days:)

and i have not been induced before but my cousin was about 2 weeks ago and everything went good and she said she would rather be induced than go regulary

  6. i got induced because i was having bad pelvic pains and could barley walk, i went in at 8pm had the gel put in about 10pm and they said they would break my waters in the morning i gae birth to a healthy girl at 3.21am and i only had gas as there wasnt time for anything else just relax, walk and breath thru the pains this helped me also a bath helps

  7. My mom was induced with her last three of her kids, but it was because she was going overdue.  My mom also had six kids total and went back to work (she's a pianist) within 24 hours of giving birth with all of the last three, so she's quite a tough lady.  Personally, unless my doctor recommends inducing for my baby's health, I'd rather wait until the baby is ready.  It's better for the baby and supposedly an easier labor.

  8. I haven't been induced so have no information for you, but just wanted to wish you the best of luck with your baby :)

Good luck with the birth and congrats !!! Hope everything goes well.

(I wish i were that far a long, I just can't wait to meet my new little one)

  9. First, do NOT worry about the pain. It will be over and all you will remember is that it hurt, not what it felt like truly. Actually a lot of people get induced, just not planned. I was induced, but I was ready, she was just moving slow LOL! But they broke my water for me and had me roll on this ball. But please don't worry about the pain. Get an epidural if you are concerned. But Last year I felt like you did, but I had my daughter at 36 weeks. Lots of walking did it for me.

    CONGRATS!!!!!!

  10. I was induced at 42 weeks and it was horrible...I hate tell you that..but they give you Piticion drip IV and once that starts so do your contractions and they are harder than normal and they are more frequent...I ended with 28 hours of labor and a c-section...but with my 2nd baby it was a planned c-section and went much better....

I would not let them induce me at 38 weeks without any health reason..cause you want your baby to be as developed as possible....2 weeks more isn't that much longer if it will be better for your baby....

  11. I had to be induced. hmmm... how can I put this...It was horrendously painful so that I had to get an epidural. And it was a pretty complicated labour. But that was just my experience. My advice to you is don't get induced if you don't have to. When labor comes naturally it will be so much better. Congrats:)
