  1. I agree with Kimberly P about this.

Even if it's non-toxic it is still can not be good for the baby.

If your Doctor just laughed at you and thought it was silly instead of asking you more questions and checking your blood and doing some more tests, you should really get a new Doctor.  Sounds like she may be a quack.

  2. even though it is nontoxic it can not be good for you - talk to your docter I always heard that if you crave stuff like dirt or laundry detergent it could be a sign of something serious

  3. I heard about this on the news.

  4. I would see a different doc if this one just thinks its funny

  5. I've heard of such cravings.  I'm surprised your doctor thought it was funny...yes it's funny in a sense, but your doctor should have been somewhat concerned.  You may be lacking something in your diet, unusual cravings like that are usually an indication you're missing something.  My doctor asked me if I was craving dirt, or anything unusual like that, I laughed along with my husband, she just stared at us, like it was a common question.  Talk to your doctor again.

  6. Google Pica.

  7. You should stop the chalk and try baking soda instead. Same texture. It's normally a sign of anemia. have them check your blood count.

It worries me greatly that your doctor finds it funny and not worth lookign into. Bad doctor.

  8. some pregnant women crave strange things, even dirt and gravel, its your bodies way of telling you you need some nutrients...however, dont do it, talk to your doc :)

  9. Its called pica when you crave non food items. My mother walked outside with a spoon and ate two spoonfuls of dirt. It means your body needs iron. The thing is when you eat these things it prevents the absorption of iron and you will only get worse with your craving until you hurt yourself or the baby. Go see your doctor.

  10. you should try to avoid chalk, maybe try craving carrot sticks, they actually have vitamins that can help your baby

also maybe you need a new doctor

  11. I've never heard of it before but you should probably talk to your doctor about that. Just because it's non toxic doesn't mean you should be eating it. I have heard of some weird cravings but never chalk. Good luck with the baby!

  12. hahaha. i knew someone that ate toilet paper when she was pregnant. but she lost the baby when she was 5 months along. good luck.

  13. Are you for real?

  14. um........... I don't think thats ok.

  15. As long as your doctor knows about your craving & is ok then I wont worry. But i would try to avoid it unless it became an overwhelming craving.

  16. Are you for real?  I have heared of women craving odd stuff but never that I think you should really talk to your doctor about this if you are serious.

  17. Non-toxic chalk is just calcium mostly, throw in some protein and your baby will be super healthy. But is there such a thing as normal during pregnancy no. My sister used to eat orange peels, my other sister ate the paper that came with the tacos from taco bell. My neighbor did that too. Funny is a good word for this.

  18. That's not normal and you should call your doctor about this. You may have low levels of iron or something. I think it's called Pica, where you crave non food items...your body is lacking something it really needs. Please call your doctor to discuss this with them!
