I am 39 weeks pregnant. This morning I woke up with blood stained underwear?

Question

I noticed just a small amount of dried blood in my underwear this morning when I went to use the restroom. It wasn't much, I would say around the size of a nickel? Isn't this normal to see a little blood? I heard not to freak out until contractions start getting regular. I was having them last night, but they just faded away. So I don't wanna rush off the the hospital or phone my Dr. just yet. Just wanna know if anyone has experienced this? If it is normal? Or if it is something I should be worried about.

Have you lost your mucus pkug yet? This could be the remnants of that but I would be worried. I would call your doctor if I were you.

it could be the bloody show from your mucus plug. you should always ask your doctor if you have any concerns though, they know what is best for you, and they could give you a more definite answer as to what it is, but im guessing it just has to do with your mucus plug.

you are having a bloody show which is the mucus plug that sealed the cervix. your cervix is dilating and this is normal. any bright red bleeding should be reported to your OB doc immediately!

Sounds like it could be part of your mucus plug coming out...don't worry about it till you get some contractions, adn at regular intervals.

At this stage in your pregnancy, you should call your doctor at any sign of blood. It could very well be nothing, but it's best to be sure. Good luck!

simple spoting go to the doctor and hel help you its not the end of the world you should be fine just to be sure i would get an apointment

No its all normal :) you're probably dilating....when your cervix starts to dilate the blood vessels kind of "pop" and thats why you'll get blood. It means your getting alot closer though :) I lost my mucus plug last thursday and my due date is today but im still pregnant :(
