i was advised to walk but due to my pain in heels i was not advised to walk .i am keeping control on foods.what more execisescan ido other than walking.

  1. Swimming is an excellent way to exercise, and it can be fun!


  2. Eat fruit and vegetables. Don't eat junk food; it is terrible for you and other healthier foods taste better. Go go the Canada food guide site and print out a copy of the food guide for free. However, do NOT follow bogus diets that are short term diets. If you go on a diet, it should be a permanent one. You will only gain weight in the long run if it is a short diet; it really messes up your metabolism.

    Also, try buying an indoor exercise bike. They are not too expensive, they don't wear out fast, and the pressure on your heels will be minimal or non-existant.Don't be afraid to buy used if you have a good eye.

    Don't be afraid to take up swimming either; you can go indoor swimming or outdoor swimming. If you take it seriously it can help a lot.

    -sit ups

    -side twists

    -arm/elbow/shoulder rotations

    -SWIMMING :D (this can be a key exercise since this does more than running can do for a person)

    -yoga/pilates

    have fun with whatever it is that you do, and as time goes on, you'll get more and more creative with your exercises =]

  4. Maybe try drinking water equal in ozs. to your actual pounds. Example: if you weigh 100 pounds  drink 100 ozs of water. Stretch every morning and every evening for a least 10-15 minutes.  Stand as much as possible and just be more active doing everyday things. Example:  Stand while folding clothes, make two trips up and down the stairs, make every step count and make extra steps every day.  Drink NO Pop, no sugar, reduce all snacks.....   8. Try swimming or bike riding. For something a little different and fun, try rock climbing (at an indoor centre) or trampolining.

  9. Weight lifting/ toning your body speeds up metabolism. Drink a lot of water, see an expert about food; you'll be surprised and maybe you learn new things.

    If walking is your only option when it comes to exercise, I recommend no less than 1 hour of walking every day. Less time will not get the body revved up enough to start burning fat.

    If you got pretty good control on foods, I'm sure you know that it's best to lay off salt, soda and food that causes acid in your system.

  10. I agree with Whitty.  Given your heel pain, you want to do something that is going to be easy on your feet.  Both Swimming and Biking are excellent cardio activities that don't put alot of pressure on weight-bearing joints.
