  1. with skis most skis should be able to take most w8s it's the binding that has a limit I think, so you need bindings that can take however much you weigh. and get skis that your comfortable with, if you like doing 3's and 5's maybe a few 7's then get ones that are about shoulder height, but if you like doing groomed runs get ones that are around eye height or whatever your local ski shop recommends.

  2. It is now more dependent on your ability than your height. Since you ask, I guess you are just starting so take a series of lessons in a package that includes the equipment. Your boots must fit tight around your foot and ankle. the foot must not move in the boot, but you should wiggle your toes.

Your ski/binding set will fit the boots and your ski set should be about 10-15 cm shorter than you are.  Your height is 164 cm so about a 150 cm to learn.

  3. I am guessing that 160s would be good.  However, you should ask other people around your height who are into skiing what they think.  You should also ask the salesperson in the ski shop.  I do not necessarily trust people who sell sports equipment for their advice on sizing.  I feel I have had some bad experiences myself.  Some of them might not be as knowledgeable about sizing as the customers presume they are.  Some people might suggest that you ski 150s because a lot of them like the skis to be shorter than they used to be, since they also are narrower.

It depends a lot on how fast you want to go and what kind of skiing you would like to do.  The longer ones might give you more stability when it comes to greater speed up to a point.
