Question:

I am 5'7 and 140 pounds I have junior sized skis and 190 which do I use?

  1. It all depens on what you want to do.

    If you're going for more tricks and easier handling, but a slightly rougher ride, use the smaller skis.

    But if speed is what you're after, use the longer skis, but you will have to work a little more to get around. These will also be a lot smoother on the bumps.

    It all depends on what you're after.


  2. Time to consider another pair of skiis. The juniors are too soft and are designed differently than an adult ski. Your height and weight put you out of the junior class. The 190's are a very long pair for an adult who is about 6-8 inches taller than you and about 70 pounds heavier.  Your experience is limited unless you have been skiing every day for the past five years. I doubt this or you would not be asking the question.  I would suggest a pair of all mountain skiis about 150-160 cm with a medium flex pattern. If you try a ski shop that had a season rental program, you might find a pair of rental returns in good shape with very little wear and tear and bindings for a very reasonable price.  Maybe under $400 for this season ski.
