  1. The YZ85 is too small for your size, it is not a good beginners bike for any size, and it is not a good trail bike at all. If you don't have to have a race bike the Honda CRF230 would be a good choice. If you do want a race bike get a 250F of any brand.

  2. This is the racing section.

  3. You may be getting a bit tall for yZ85.  Perhaps look at either a 250f or a 230f.  The 230f may be better for just riding trails as the 250f is a motocross bike.

But you would very quickly outgrow the 85cc if you didn't already find it too small.

Also if money is tight try and remember that it is usually a buyers market ( I have been trying to sell a kx125 that my son no longer races for ages).  When you look at bikes and I am assuming you will be looking second hand.  Make sure you have someone who knows bikes check the bike over as if you buy trouble the money situation will only get worse, but look at a few bikes and suggest a much lower price for cash.  If the person has been trying to sell for a while you could be surprised at the bargain you could get.  Just dont expect to get the first bike you make an offer on.

  4. ummm ya  no not a 85 i am also 14 and i weight 185 and the weight limit on an 85 is 152LB and iv been racing since i was 6 and i am now racing a 450 i have 2 CRF's  and i love them to death so really 450 or 250.. but good luck dude
