I would love to help you, but I don't know how much 10 stone is. Could you give the equivalent in pounds?

It is generally recommended that a horse not carry more than 20% of its own body weight.

You'll be fine, your no where near to heavy. Just remember to lift your legs when jumping or you'll catch them on the poles!!! he he only joking, enjoy

10 stone?? that is 14lbs I believe... so at 140 lbs.. I think you are just fine!! that is how much I weigh and ride a 14HH AQHA.. and she has NO problem what so ever... your horse can likely hold even more!

if its an irish x and if its quite stocky then ur fine if u feel ur to big or heavy dnt u think u should get a a bigger horse

You're perfectly fine- funnily enough I am also 5'8 but 9 1/2 stone, I'm happily riding a 14.1hh Welsh Cobx! Especially as your horse is Irish, he'll be even more powerful to carry you!

You are fine to ride him. I weigh 9 1/2 and still ride my 13.2hh pony. They are a lot stronger than we give them credit for.

no you're no where near too heavy!!! Its a proven fact that even something small like a shetland has the ability to carry a grown man around - which was done in the days ofunderground mining!!!

So relax, the cob will be more than capable of carrying you around!

No way, he can easily carry 10 stone. At 5ft 8" , you may look a little tall, but I shouldn't worry at the moment.

id say your ok, shetlands can carry around 8 stone...not recommended too much!! it would probably be different if it was a 14hh thoroughbred but yeah continue having fun!!
