I am 5 feet 7 with size 12 feet and 140 pounds. Is a 161 cm snowboard too long for me?

Way too long! It depends on the terrain you'll ride. I'm 5'10 and always in the park so I ride a 146. If you are a beginner then I'd say to consider a 146. Definitely not over 150. If you ride park or think that you will while you have the board, get a board a few inches shorter.

im 5'7 too and i usually ride 150-155. it depends though, if you are riding deep powder then i suppose it would be useful, but you would be better off with something shorter. also you should look for a wide board because with size 12 boots you are going to get toe drag
