I still am to young to fully retire and would like to do something else. Any ideas for someone without a college education who would like to try something other than restaurants?

  1. Well, since about 80% of businesses fail within the first year, and 50% of the remaining businesses fail within 5 years, you have definitely been successful in your business.

Have you considered coaching other businesses?  You have a PhD in buying, selling, marketing, customer service, finances and balancing work and life and you have made MANY mistakes that new business owners are going to make.

I worked for a business coach at www.actioncoach.com and that could be a great fit for you.  With your background and their structure, it could be a match.

Good luck with the new ventures!

  2. Hotels.  Similar structure and still in the hospitality industry.  I was told by a headhunter that you don't need a degree even for hotel management.
