  1. if your a beginner i suggest at lest an 8 foot long board. good luck!

  2. Bro, check out Channel Islands's MBB board.  They are made specifically for heavier (over 170lbs in the surf world) surfers.  I'm 6'1 and 204 lbs and love mine.  BTW, my MBB is 6'8.

  3. the big clambouski surfs a 14' long board.(im 4'7) you should ride 7' longboard or 8 foot long board.

    I AM THE BIG CLAMBOUSKI

  4. to answer your question (how small of a board a person of my height and weight can stoop down to)---NOT giving you board advice--i am 6' 186 lbs and my favorite board is a 6'3"--i actually have 2, almost identical. i actually like the thinner of the 2.

for board advice--hit the local shops or meet some local shapers---they give awesome advice.

  5. something big and floaty for a while yet I am guessing

  6. a_evans * gave you a good answer. And, if you notice, he didn't give you ADVICE. It is foolish to make recommendations for size and design of surfboards to people on line. You need to go to a good local surf shop, where they can help you find the right board for your weight, skill level, local wave conditions and your budget.

I'm 5'10", 215, and at about the same size, I rode a neat 6'4" for twenty years. I have been surfing since '66, and at age 56, the shortest board that I still ride regularly is 7'8".
