  3. 600cc or up...

    Honda CBR 600RR, 1000RR

    Kawasaki ninja zx6r zx6rr, zx10r, zx14r

    Yamaha R6, R1

    Suzuki Gsxr 600, 750, 1000, hayabusa

  4. 600-750cc.

  5. Real sportbikes, the Honda CBR, Suzuki GSX-R, Yamaha R1/R6, etc., are very serious single-purpose machines.  They are not built for comfort to begin with, and I suspect a guy your size would feel a little cramped on any of them.

Every motorcycle has a little different spatial relationship between the seat, the handlebars and the pegs.  The feel of these things is completely subjective, but when I move from a bigger to a smaller bike I feel cramped.  The only way you can tell is to sit on them, hopefully up on the centerstand, and see how they feel.

  6. Well that like all things ... depends.  I never see anyone else point this out.  They reference experience as a key but there should also be some consideration given to your body dimensions.  Although some can be altered you should still try and sit on the motorcycle you're thinking of buying.  For example I'm 6'7" and 220.  But my sitting height is basically average because I have a leg length of a 7 footer (40" inseam).  Couple that with size 16 shoes and I had a lot of trouble finding a sports bike that didn't require serious adjustment.

If you have some experience (and some money) I might look at something a bit bigger.  But again make sure you fit in the critical areas.

  7. im the same build and have a 2006 gsxr600. its plenty for me. hit 176 when i first got it.

  8. I'm 6'3" 245lb and I'm pretty comfortable on my CBR1000rr. I ride 80 miles daily to and from work. The trick is, on long stretches, lean on the tank so that your elbows rest on your thighs; this will distribute the weight evenly and take the pressure off your arms.

  9. THEY CALL IT A HARLEY.
