  1. You got three answers that all said you need "nothing" to move to Mexico.  All three are WRONG. Just because you are married to a Mexican does  not mean you can just "move" to Mexico anymore than being married to an American means a Mexican can just "move" to the U.S.   You CAN visit in Mexico for up to 180 days with a tourist card...obtained at the border or on the plane.  Some people just go back to the border every 6 months, stay gone a day, and re-enter on another tourist card.  Some get by with this, though it is neither honest or legal.    To reside in Mexico, you need to apply for an FM3 visa .  This must be renewed once a year at the nearest INM office in Mexico.  It requires that you have a steady. provable income of about $1200 a month from OUTSIDE of Mexico...tho this amount is reduced if you are married to a Mexican citizen.  After 5 years, you may apply for an FM2 if desired...this makes you an "immigrant"...like a permanent resident.  Then after 2 more years, you may apply for citizenship if desired.  You cannot work in Mexico without an FM3 with a work permit.  The only way to get a work permit is to find an employer who will hire you and write a letter to immigration stating he cannot find a Mexican citizen for that position...so you need to be hghly skilled. The employer sponsors your work permit and it is tied to that specific job. Wages are 1/10  the amount they are in the U.S., even for professionals. There are many Americans living in Mexico. The GREAT majority of these are RETIRED people on pensions who can meet the financial requirement for an FM3 or FM2.   It is almost impossible for a young person to live and work in Mexico.  If your husband has a good job and you will not need to work, you will have a much better chance in Mexico.   You would benefit from talking to  a consular officer at the nearest Mexican consulate.  Lately I have talked with MANY young or middle-aged women from the U.S. wanting to move to Mexico with their husband or boyfriend.  The greatest difficulty sems to be that they need to WORK...and this is nearly impossible.    Then of course your standard of living and the cultural  differences are quite an adjustment too.  I am an American living in Mexico and know many women married to Mexican citizens...but the men are professionals with good jobs, or they have a steady income from the U.S. from business, investments , or pensions.  I wish you well, just want you to have the true picture.

  2. nothing you're american plus you're married w/ amexican

  3. To come to Mexico, you do not need anything, unless you want to make a business call a Form Migration.

But now the United States, are asking American passport to enter the United States again, to its own citizens.

That is because I live in border USA, I live in Mexico.

We apologize if you do not write well.

    I am Mexican

  4. You need to pack up your belongings and take them with you for starters. You do not need anything to be able to move to Mexico because your husband is Mexican. There are tons of americans already living in Mexico because it's much cheaper than living here in the U.S. For example, San Miguel de Allende - Guanajuato, Lake Chapala - Jalisco and Puerto Vallarta - Jalisco all have large american populations there that consist of primarily retirees. But a lot of single & younger americans (and more such as europeans) choose to live in Mexico because of it's culture, the people, the climate, and so much more. If you ever feel lonely and in need of some english conversation just head over to a cafe near a university because a lot of Mexican students can speak english. And if you get super lonely and want to hang out with americans, then go to any of the cities I mentioned and you'll feel right at home.

Suerte & enjoy yourself in Mexico.
