I am here now on a visitor's visa B 2 and the 6 month date expires in a little over a month. We were married in the US, and I worked abroad for 6 motnhs at a time and came back for 2 or so everytime within the 2 years on the visitor's visa. The border patrol always stops me on account of they do not want to give me entry due to my wanting to change status here. I was not given and I-94 on arrival but it states on these forms that it is necessary to have. Little confused on what to do. Could leave and come back again through the same work but may have troubles like the last reentry. I have been married now for over 2 years, shouldn't it be easier for me to get help and sort this all out? thanks

  1. If your husband makes $17,500 and you can afford about $2,000 apply for a spousal visa.

    Go to : http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/m...

  2. If your spouse is an American citizen, he (she?) should apply for a spousal visa for you.  You have to remain in Canada while the visa is processed, and you will be interviewed there.  Your spouse has to prove he has sufficient income and assets to support you and guarantee a $30,000 bond.  After you get the spousal visa, you may enter, then apply for authorization to work, then a Social Security number, then you may start job hunting.
