  1. Well, which bird do you want to spend the next several years of your life with?  Both of these birds can live to their 20s, so you have to be certain that you want your species of choice before getting it.  This is a huge commitment, not something you can rush into.

  2. OH yes at Pet smart they have many birds. And you can also look ina phone boook. If you get one makesure the cage is big enough you clip its wings!. Get it the right food. I have had tons of birds. Good Luck! :)

  3. If you are at home the majority of the time and want an affectionate pet who loves to be out i would have to say Indian Ringenck but if you leave it without any interaction they will Bite or Flight if you work alot and cant be at home the majority of the time i would recommend a cockatiel they tend to stay tamer for longer and if you do get a cockatiel get a boy if you want it to whistle and talk because girls are much quieter. ANd PLEASE! PLEASE! buy it from a private breeder Pet Stores RIP OFF. make sure it is and raised!

  4. Do NOT get an Indian Ringneck if this is your first bird. IRNs will NOT stay tame unless you interact with them on a regular basis. Please don't get a bird from a pet store. Find a private breeder. You'll get a healthier, better socialized bird and pay a much fairer price.

  5. okay first off I would not reccomend an indian ringneck if this is going to be a first bird . a cockatiel would be much better than a ringneck . I know ringnecks go for around 250.00 where I live and I am sure that there are cheaper ones but that is about average .

  6. cockatiel will be cheeper

  7. I have a ringneck and got him for 200$ from a breeder. Pet-smart tends to up $$$$. Both are wonderful birds.

  8. i recomend a cockatiel cause most are easy to train and fun to be around. they do live like 15 years though.
