why do you need a counsellor in the US? If any you should get one in India. They charge less and will be able to help you better. Studying abroad may bot be an easy process but there are many websites that can help you out. For example.

There are many agencies in India who will be happy to guide you until you are successful and got admission in a USA University. I am a Consultant in this respect and I did advise/practice in this field in Kolkata. My students are all over in USA.

The government of USA has its own offices to help students from around the world. http://www.educationusa.state.gov is their website. The website of the INDIA office is http://www.fulbright-india.org . It would be wiser to contact them instead of a private agency.
