  1. No.  The international driver's permit basically lets the local police agencies know that you have a driver's license in another country.  I believe that it is more helpful to cops if you have one that is printed in a language other than english.


  2. No.  You aren't required to have one to drive.

    However, some rental companies will not rent you a car without one, so ask the company first.

  3. No.  Your valid Irish license will suffice.

    Donnag... English is Ireland's' language.....:>)
