I am SO Confused! What is all this talk about ppl becoming Mermaids?

I keep seeing all these questions from ppl wanting to become a Mermaid. Questions about tail colors and powers. What are these ppl talking about?

You can not Become A Mermaid! Who waould ask such a silly question! I am a mermaid just cause a family member of mine mated with one. Thats how you become a mermaid.

Haha...i saw a couple of those questions...In the beggining i thought they were talking about a video game...now i'm not so sure...it is sort of worrying if they aren't talking about a videogame...i mean...mermaids??!

Having gone back and read everything through, I'm as confused as anyone about this. It CERTAINLY doesn't have a basis in folklore.

It's just a ledgend that fishermen told. It was actually a whale.

They could just be delusional. But some people are going crazy about global warming and expecting when the sea rises will adapt to it and become a mermaid.

There is a show on tv called H2O. The show is from Australia I believe. There are three girls who can become mermaids and they all have separate powers. One can freeze, another one is wind and then heat. Now everyone wants to become mermaids.

Aparently there is a new show floating around called H2O that has everyone hyped up into being a mermaid.  Hoenstly, I do not understand why people are so impressionable by television.  You just cannot change your body to that of a mythical creature, ya know?  It isn't possible.  Some teens and kids don't understand that and keep filling the place with questions about it .

i think people want to become mermaids because what they see on TV with mermaids suppose to always be these nice beautiful creatures. honestly i wish i was one lol
