how do you do it? I mean, even where I live-I really want to settle down somewhere, but whenever I try to, I find myself so captivated and compelled by other places, other cities, towns, other countries, other cultures, other ways of life-there are so many to choose from. And the decision making struggle pops up on a daily basis. How can I choose something/somewhere to live without feeling pulled elsewhere?

  1. I believe that you have to get it out of your system.  So if you can afford it and find work, then keep on moving until you get tired and want to settle down.

If you can't afford to do that, then consider working for a bit to save up money, then quit and travel the world for a year.  Perhaps you'll be ready to settle then.  If not, then repeat!

Found the question!!  Sorry if I misunderstood you.  That's a tough question.  Three thoughts:

    1) Do you have enough money to afford 2 places?  You could pick different characteristics (like mountain and beach, or city and country) and split your time.

    2) Make a list of characteristics you like and rank them.  If you have a partner, have him or her do the same.  See what you agree upon as top priority, and use that as a basis to find a place.

    3) Just pick a place.  If, after 2 years, you don't love it, pick another.

Sorry, best I could do.  Good luck to you!
