I am US citizen and speak 3 language, how do I find a job at US Embassy in Dubai?

  1. Speaking 3 other languages doesn't matter.. you should go to a foreign service school here in the United States first before you could find a job in an embassy


  2. Actually, the U.S. mission in Dubai is a consulate. The American Embassy for the UAE is in Abu Dhabi. The Embassy handles all the HR work for the consulate, and if you do have permission to work in the UAE you can find job openings here:

    If you don't have permission to work in the UAE, you will have to apply via the State Department or one of the other agencies represented at the consulate, as a previous poster has stated.

  3. There are basically three ways to work at a US embassy/foreign mission:  Be hired by the Department of State and then be sent to that mission; be hired by another of the many US agencies represented there and then be sent  to that mission; or live legally in that location, with the proper work permits, and be hired locally by that mission.

  4. Would English happen to be one of them?

    Just curious.
