I am a 23 year old software professional looking to buy a brand new bicycle for my commuting to places near my home and not to office.My day to day use would not exceed 7kms.What kind of a bicycle,meaning,a mountain terrain bike or a racing bike or a hybrid?Where would i get the one that suits my requirement here in Hyderabad?For the information of those who are not aware of Hyderabad,this city has got loads of traffic and the roads here are not very great.Hpe I get my query resolved at the earliest by one of you.

I would suggest a hybrid. A racing bike would not be good for mountain bike terrain. You may want to consider a specialized bike that is specific for commuting. It comes with aspects that are intended to survive mean streets and harsh traffic. As for where do you get your equipment? Go online and get what you need and pay the price in shipping, but you will have what you need.
