  1. breast is best,

for the baby's immunity to get better

  2. yeapp i dnt kno about u but i like b*****s

  3. Absolutely!!!  Good for you!  Try to keep it up.

  4. Absolutely. And it isn't just anyone's opinion. Every bit of scientific research ever done has demonstrated that breastfeeding/breastmilk is best for babies. Best for moms too.

Formula is an adequate substitute, nothing more.

  5. Yup  nothing better!!  I breastfed until my son was 19 months!!!  He is healthy and growing fast now that he is almost 6 years old.  He hardly ever gets sick and when he gets cuts and scrapes they heal really fast!!!

  6. It is, formula milk is ok for baby cows. Nature knows best. I breastfed my son until he was 2.

  7. Yes! It's awesome! Way to go for you.

  8. Good for you! I breastfed my daughter for 15 months. She has only been sick once in her life (a viral infection). Breastfed babies have a healthier immune system, are less likely to be overweight and are more lean (if you doctor tells you your baby is too small, get a second and third opinion), and may have a higher IQ than other children who were formula-fed. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends breastfeeding for one year or longer.

  9. definitely breast is best. i breast fed my daughter for a year

  10. Breast is unquestionably best for baby and mom if it's possible.  It's great you're able to breastfeed; you're doing a great thing for your baby.

Formula easily beats starvation when breastfeeding is medically impossible, though.  As someone who desperately wanted to breastfeed and simply couldn't (in the unanimous opinion of myself, my starving babies, my pediatrician, my doctor, and a lactation consultant), I wholly support and applaud breastfeeding mothers -- but absolutely can't stand when people criticize others for using formula without knowing the reasons why they're doing it.  If a mom doesn't have an option to breastfeed, she deserves to be just as proud as any other mom for doing what she can do giving alternatives to help her baby thrive.

  11. Breast is definately best, i chose not to breast feed purely cos i wouldnt have felt comfortable with it. Well done 2 u though.

  12. I do think that breast is best, I'm all for it.  I do understand, though, that there are situations in which a woman is unable to nurse.  I nursed my son til he was 18months old.  Loved it, was planning to again nurse the next child.  However, I wasn't able to do so, since my daughter was born with a cleft lip/palate.  It was very difficult for me not to nurse her.  I did attempt pumping, but that was difficult as well, I just wasn't able to do it often enough, and when severe PPD set in, it was just impossible for me.

She was formula fed, and that was okay.  :)  I was thrilled that she was able to drink at all, it was a struggle in the beginning.  Feeding a cleft lip/palate affected baby takes a lot of patience.

  13. yes I do but i also believe in choice and not every one is able to breastfeed and I feel we should support those who can't breastfeed so they are just as proud of them selves as we are

  14. Without a doubt.  I have been breadfeeding for almost 5 months as well.  I have had to give up lots of my favorite foods because my baby is sensative, but I wouldn't change a thing.  The bonding experience is wonderful and "boob juice" as we call it in my house is much cheaper than bottle feeding.

  15. The breast is the best. I am a mother of 5.I have nursed all my children. They didn't get sick, never had ear infections, very healthy, and besides it helps u loose the weight faster. nursing mothers burn about 500 more calories a day than a non nursing mom.It also forms a special bond between you and your baby.It can be painful in the beginning but let me give you a few tips that might help you out.1 don't use soap around your nipples because it dries them out and they will begin to crack and bleed.2 After you nurse your child let your nipples air dry.3 make sure the baby is latched on properly(because that makes a HUGE difference, if they are not latched on properly it can become very painful).4 If you don't feel like you milk is coming down put a warm damp towel on you breast or take a warm shower ( put the baby in with you it helps them to relax and feel secure).5 The more you nurse the more milk you produce, also rest is important, and continue to take your vitamins. 6 The most important tip PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE relax and enjoy the time with your baby.

  16. Do I think breast is best... only if it best for you, I would not do it at all and I am late thirties it is not for everyone

  17. yea thats really good.good luck!!!! i couldnt breastfeed cause my nipplez are inverted...

  18. there has been a ton of studies saying its so good for the baby...i have never heard of a study saying its harmful ! they say breastfeeding reduces the risk of obesity...nervousness in adulthood and collic...ect

  19. Me, too.  I personally think it is the coolest and best thing I ever did for him and for myself.

    Formula is disgusting!

  20. I would have loved to continue breastfeeding but had an infection so had to stop :( I was told by my midwife that although breast milk is great at the time but once you stop, and therefore stop passing on immunity, the baby then has to develop their own immunity, the same as a bottle fed newborn would. I think it's a personal thing. Some people don't feel comfortable with it. Well done for lasting 5 months!

  21. Breast milk has stuff in it which bumps up your babies immune system.I believe this stuff is in the milk that comes out in the first week or so(when its not as white).Breast feeding even just for the first few weeks is supposed to give babies extra immunities from this milk that comes out first so even if you only breast feed for the first few weeks theres definatly extra benefit to breast feeding at that time. Also it helps to develop the bond between mother & baby so i think breast is best , at least for the first few weeks anyway to give the baby all the help you can with its immune system.Ask your midwife or Dr about this milk that comes out first for more info or look it up on the net.So i think everyone should breastfeed for the reasons stated at least for the first few weeks.

  22. breast feeding is the best thing for a baby, but unfortunately i was not able to fo it with my kids.... i have certain health issues that prevent me to because it does leak into the breast milk... good for you for breast feeding for 5 months so far... keep it up!
