I am a 45 year old woman, twice divorced, and my 2 husbands were rather anti-social. ?

They had their friends from work, and I was friends with their friends if I wanted to spend time with my husbands. Now, I'm alone, 45 and have no female friends. How do I make friends when most women my age are into their families, work, etc.?

Been there... but then I realized that I had to go out and make friends and not wait for someone to reach out to me in my need.

You can have several friends for all areas of your life. One to go walking with. Go to your local gym and put a message on the message board or taped up in the locker room stating you are looking for someone to join you in going for walks. Then you can have a shopping buddy, one that loves yard sales or window shopping. Go into a second hand store and talk with the workers there and ask them if they know of anyone who would love to join you in yard sales. Or you can have a lunch buddy where you can share things with.  Try contacting churches. Most have women who go out to lunch just for this reason. Before you know it, your life will be full with beautiful friends that you can share with, cry with, laugh with and grow with.

you find a hobby, take a class, do things that interest you and meet people who share your interests.  You have a variety of friends, you don't make just one or two friends and make them be your end all and be all friends.  don't be afraid to befriend women younger or older than you.  You're looking for someone who may be at the same stage of life as you or who shares your interests.  They don't have to be the same age as you to do that.

and if you get involved with any more men, don't ditch your female friends to lose yourself in your men.  As you've seen it's not healthy and you wind up alone and friendless when they move on.
