Also, any recommendations for a nice bike I could use on a daily basis, around $400.

  1. Depends on frame geometry. Hybrid/comfort bike, mountain, or roadie? I'm 5'6", and ride a 16" mountain bike (Motobecane 600HT). I had a roadie (another Moto) that was 52cm. Different frame style. Best bet is to go to a bike store and look at women's specific bikes. They'll fit you to whatever type you choose. Stay away from department store POS gas-pipe bikes.

  2. road bike size 50-54 cm i'd think.

  3. 18-20" depending on the length of your leg.  The top of the frame should be no less than 2" from your groin when standing.  There are many good bikes for that much...the bike shops will have a decent selection from 400 and up.  Stores like target and walmart start at around $75 and up to about $200
