  1. What about cross-stitching? You'd only need some aida cloth, needle, yarns (mouline) and a pattern which you can copy from a pattern book for example!

  2. i'm from ireland...we have atotally different schooling system here so i dont really know what age you are.i'm 15 and i'm crafty too.here are some ideas....(if they are too babyish i can give you more for older kids).and,i'll take it that you mean arts and crafts?

1.use a bambbo stick 1 meter long ,some string and paper cup to create a big chinese dragon puppet.run the string through the cups one by one (spacing them 3cm apart with knots) then decorate the last cup like a face.buy glitter and feathers to help.use some sring to tie the dragon to the stick a different intervals so you get a wavy appearance.

2.buy paper mache....most art shops/general retailers....apply petroleum jelly to ones face, cover in wet paper mache (allow for breathing holes) .wait to dry, remove slowly.

you can do lots with this now......

    masks

    wall hangings

    fancy dress ideas

fill with plaster to get a mould of your face

hope the above are of some use!!

  3. Gather up old (or cheap new) greeting cards and post cards.  Cut them out in irregular shapes and glue them on boxes (sturdy boxes!).  Cover the boxes completely.  Then shellac over the pictures several times (4 or 5).  Use them to store "Personal items" in or sell them to friends and family.  This is especially neat if you collect cards from graduates and then give the completed box back to them as a gift.  Have fun!

  4. Cross stitching is a great idea - There are tons of free patterns at places like www.cyberstitchers.com  (and others) - you would just have to shop for the materials (floss, fabric and a couple of needles - pretty inexpensive.)  You can stitch smaller patterns and glue them on the front of hardcover notebooks to make gifts for friends or for yourselves for when you go back to school, stitch right onto t-shirts and sweatshirts using 'waste canvas', etc.

Jewelry-making is another craft that can be as expensive as you want to make it - bracelets, necklaces and earrings are all fun to make.

Here's a site with a bunch of kids craft ideas:

    http://www.makingfriends.com/index.htm

Use it as inspiration to design your own.

Also, most crafts are either for decoration or for some useful purpose, which are you looking to do? Do you want to make gifts for others or stuff for yourselves? Are there any particular themes/animals or colors you like?

Check out your local Michaels/JoAnn/HobbyLobby/ACMoore with your friends, take an hour or so and just stroll through all the aisles and see what kinds of crafts look like fun or are interesting to all of you.

  5. Making jewellery out of beads is fun and you can usually pick up cheap beads at dollar stores. Look on the Internet for beading websites and find free patterns.

  6. Go to a craft store like Micheals  and  get Pretty Petals. My friend says that they are really fun!

Also, you definitely check out American Girl Magazine-they always have inexpensive craft ideas. You could go on their website, too!

My friend is with me here are some of her ideas:

cook books, knitting, cards, like scrap books of youre pics and friends, also decorate baskets for gift ideas.

You could also start a business and decorate the table you use and sell your crafts. Just go to a craft store or Wal Mart, Target, etc. and look around! Good luck and have fun!!!!!
