Your Q is so broad that it's difficult to be helpful.  Are you looking for small private colleges or state schools?  If you are looking for a smaller 4-yr school, do you have a preference for any religious affiliation? (such as Lutheran, Catholic, Methodist, etc.)  Is there anything about any one of these 8 states that you find particularly appealing?  Is financial assistance going to be necessary?  If you're looking at state schools, what are the non-resident tuition costs in case you are not a resident of that state?
