  1. I'm pretty sure you woud have to marry him.

  2. You need to get married first. Then your husband can petition you I-130. Upon approval you will be given Priority Date (PD) Since he is not US Citizen, but US PR, the immigrant visa for you is not available until your PD becomes current according to Visa Bulletin (VB).

As of August VB, Family Sponsored Category 2A, Spouse s and children of PR, the PD is October 1, 2003. Meaning person who has PD either on or before 10/1/2003 can apply for I-485, actual green card application.

So you are looking at about 5 year more or less wait.

In the meantime, you can stay in US as long as you have other visa such as F1 Student Visa, J1 Exchange Student Visa, H1B Temporary Workers Visa, or TN visa.

Once your bf becomes US Citizen and you will be married to him, the process is much faster since the spouse of US Citizen is exempted from this visa quota system.

    Good luck.

  3. depends on whether you get married.  if not, you have to come in on a tourist visa or apply for residency.  hope he agrees with this plan.

  4. No such thing as a "boyfriend/girlfriend" visa.  Non-US citizens cannot get fiance visas, so that route to marriage and eventual green card is closed to you.  If he comes to Canada and you marry in Canada, you will have to remain in Canada while he applies for a spousal visa for you.  Since he is not a US citizen, he cannot get any priority for you, and you will have to wait -- currently 5 years or more.  You will not be able to enter the US under any circumstances while the spousal visa application is pending.

If you enter on some other kind of visa, for example, a work visa, if you marry, you have to return to Canada and wait for the spousal visa.  Also, the job market in the US is crumbling and you probably would have a long and difficult time finding a job with a company willing and able to obtain a work visa for you.  Many companies are not renewing existing work visas, or are terminating them outright, in which case the employee must return to their own country immediately.

Bad idea.  Of course, if it is true love, you won't mind waiting 5 years or more.  Or you could try to sponsor his immigration into Canada.  It might not take as long.
