I am a Canadian marrying a Romanian in Romania. Will I need any special paperwork when we sign the papers?

We are getting married next month. I will have my passport obviously, but will I need any other form of identification etc?

  1. Divorce certificates, obviously. Letter, notarized, which states that you are currently single (you need it even if you were divorced before), with apostille. It varies, you know. Your fiancee must go to the registering office. They give you a list of necessary papers for a small fee (about 10-15 US). They call it a "consultation", though the papers are the same for everyone (well, these offices have to make money). Collect the needed papers and go there.
