I am a Chinese citizen. If I overstay in Germany for 6-7 hours, what is the consequence?

  1. Call your nearby embassy-they can provide you with the answer


  2. Stay at the airport in the transit area and rest.

  3. Schengen Visa are counted by days, not by hours. So if overstaying 6-7 hours means you will leave in the morning of the day after your visa expires, then you actually overstay 1 day.

    By law this makes you an illegal immigrant and might ban you from ever getting a visa to Germany again.

    Although some police officers are more generous than others, I wouldn't risk it.

    Get an extension in any case or fly back one day earlier.
