I am a E-5 about to be divorced with no kids. i just bought a house. will i still be able to keep BAH?

seeing that it would take me awhile to sell my home, plus i have many things in the home, i was wondering if they would just lower me down to single rate.

Yes, you will still keep your BAH unless you move back on the installation.  Until your divorce is final, you will receive the with dependent rate.  Just remember to bring in your decree to your finance office; if you still receive the with dependent rate after the divorce date, the military will take it back at some point.  Go to the listed web site and check with and without dependant rate.


  2. keep the house and rent it out.

    that will give you a tax loss for a few years and someone

    a discounted home for rent.

  3. call DFAS or your unit, but yes you still keep your BAH, that doesn't go away just because you have divorced
