I initially attended college in CT. However, my F1 visa expired about a year or so ago. However, I was able to successfully transfer to another college in CT and issued a new I-20. I was told that I do not need to leave the country to apply for a new visa.

I am moving to Iowa to get married to the love of my life this August. He is a US citizen. However, the college that I wanted to trasfer to, in order to finish my degree in IA does not issue I-20s. How do I maintain my legal status without being in school? I feel as if I am entering some sort of legal limbo here. Can you refer an attorney that doesnt charge too much? Can anyone explain to me the complete legal way of going about this?
