I am a German citzen and came to Italy to study for 2 years. Is it possible to open a bank account here?

Since I just moved here I only have a German passport and school papers.

  1. Why are you asking this on ANSWERS?  why don't you just walk into a bank and ASK THEM?.. or is that too simple?


  2. of course, anyone can open a bank account anywhere, at least in Europe - and normally if you say that your permanent residence is not in Italy you are exempted from taxes on the interest (Zins?).

  3. Yes, I'm from outside the EU and have an account. You'll need an Italian codice fiscale to enter into any fiscal contracts and your identification papers.
