  1. How long is your temporary role? If you enjoy working for this company, try your best to show them what you can do.

After the temporary role ends, there is a very good chance that you will be offered a permanent position. Show them that you are hard working, show them your skills. Make yourself known.

If they offer you a permanent role, you will have some good leverage in obtaining a higher salary.

    Good luck!

  2. I would look for a better job that pays more of what you are looking for especially if your not a permanant

  3. I'd suggest you look around at other designers around you.  Are you just as good as them, do you have the same citizenship status, etc., but they are permanent and getting paid more?  If so, it may be a good time to discuss with your boss what your prospects are.  If the promises are vague, or more than a year out, it may be worth moving.

It doesn't hurt to look at other companies, regardless of whether you take their job offers or not.

I would not quit my present job without having a job offer in hand from another place.

  4. Good question...

  5. With the world economy going into a slump temporary workers are being shown the door.  I would get something more stable if I were you

  7. I used to work in this field myself. It's not steady work nor does it pay particularly well and there is a lot of competition for jobs. Based on my personal experience, it would be best if you stayed with the company if they offered you a permanent job. Otherwise, where else are you going to be able to find steady work? I know there are a lot of job fields where you can quit one job and jump right into another. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them.

  8. If you're not getting paid enough to have a good standard of living and it doesn't look like that's going to change, moving would be a good idea, though I think these days you don't necessarily need to go to the U.S. to do alright.  You could also advertise on the net to do sidework for companies in other countries, you could do it for less money than they are  charged where they're at but probably could make a lot more money than you're making now.
