I am a Moderator of a Yahoo Group, how do I let another person be a Moderator as well?

That way there will be two Moderators in the group!

  1. Find the name in your Member's list, click on the pencil icon to edit the member's status (assuming you have the member's permission), and follow the obvious... being sure to save the change.

    Granting only the permissions in the left column is the safest course of action.

  2. First, discuss this with the member that you want to be a moderator to make sure it's ok with him/her.

    Sign in to your group and click on Members.  

    Locate the member that you want to assign as moderator.

    Click Edit Membership located underneath members name.  

    Click Change to Moderator.

    Click Make Moderator.

    Click on Save Changes.

    This will give that person the basic moderator privileges.  I recommend waiting until this person shows that he/she can make wise choices in dealing with group problems before assigning more privileges.

    Click Edit Membership.

    A little way down, click Change to Moderator.
