  1. you do not need a visa to enter any part of Ireland from uk

Is is written in the irish constitution thqt there will always be free travel between the two countries (this is fact)

  2. Dublin is not in northern Ireland ,its in the east ,Ireland is divide into 2 the north is part of the UK ,the south ,west ,and east is called rep of Ireland ,you need an Irish visa to enter ireland, but you can go to belfast which is in the north and it takes a 2 hours drive form belfast to dublin without the need for an additional visa, check the yellow pages you should be  able to find the irish embassy ,you are better off coming to ireland with a visa ,if you are coming bring lots of money with you bcos this country is expensive.

    good luck

  3. it amazes me that people still think ireland is part of the united kingdom!!!.

To answer your question, if you have a british student visa, you can by rights go to northern ireland, as that is considered part of the british isles (united kingdom).  If you go to ireland by sea you might be lucky and just be able to walk through customs, as sea ports on the east coast of ireland dont usually have immigration facilities.

BUT, if you choose to fly and do not go through immigration you might have some trouble.  If you dont 'declare' you have a british visa you might have some problems, if you just go through immigration as a precaution you might get some questions but generally they let you in as long as you have a return ticket.

many students have this problems if they decide to transfer studies to ireland from the UK or vice versa.

either way hope you make it!.

  4. Dublin is in Northern Irealand and is therefore still in the UK.

There may be special rules though. You can also check with a local travel agent.

Dublin is a cool place to be by the way. Expensive though.
