I am a Spanish Citizen, can I visit the UK with just my ID Card please?

I am 18 years old and have lived in Spain all my life. I would like to travel with my British Boyfriend to the UK this summer can I do this on my ID Card

  3. Yes you can come to the UK without a passport, as a citizen of an EU country you can travel to ANY other EU country without a passport. Enjoy your visit.

  4. We may be in the EU but we are not a Schengen Country, so you need your passport to come here, just as we need ours to go to Spain.

    I do apologise.  After doing some further searching I have found some sites which confirm that as an EU citizen you can use either your national identity card or a passport to come to the UK

    We do not have identity cards as such that is why we need our passports...
