  1. please edit your question, i need some infos; if you do not know how to edit your question? go under your question there is a little pencil under it, click on it, and add comments please, i will come back,

1-do you want to marry in the US or France?

2-is she still in France or the US?

3-from which country are you from? need to know for the translation of papers of your country and hers as well.....

the marriage will not be valid if you do not follow the correct procedures wanted by both of your countries,it will just be a piece of paper, and you cannot just get married, it is not sufficient,

both of you, need to make sure the passports still have at least 6 months left of validity.

does your fiance have the newest french passport?

please do not get married without following the propers procedures, and do not get married while she is on a tourist visa, i will check back here with you.

    ps:

this is complicated indeed, the first thing i can tell you is? you cannot get married in France, unless you are a resident of France, and an US citizen, immigration has become very hard in France, (am a citizen) so that is out.

you cannot bring her to the US on a fiance's visa, because you are not an US citizen,

you can call USCIS, and ask them, but it will take years for her to come,

here is the link to get in touch with USCIS,

    http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/m...

    before you call them? you need to think seriously of the options;

why have you not become an US citzen? you said you never been out of the US? are you parents residents of the US?

you will need a passport from Thailand, you can get one in the US, at the Thailand embassy, you will need to come back to tell me if that is what you want to do? or if you even considered becoming an US citizen?

if you were to become an US citizen, it would make life easier, but the choice is yours of course,

if you were to become an US citizen, you could file for a K visa # fiance visa #

    http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/m...

she would have a 90 days visa to get married, and stay,if not married? she will have to go back, and may not get another fiance's visa,

you can see it is complicated? but wait.........

if you get married as a Thai citizen? you will have to get the passport, have to get papers for Thailand, proof that you have never been married, have all the papers translated, all that? at the Thai embassy,

if she gets to the US and you do get married?

both of you will need recent certified birth certificates, no older than 3 months.

she will have to get in touch with the french consulate nearest you state of residency, send the marriage license to the consulate and they in turn, would post the wedding in France, so that your marriage will become legal, and get a # livret de famille # (family  book,)  take your time, and come back here if you wish? i will check back with you again.

if you need time to think? you can lenghten the time of your question.it is up to you,

    ps:

i realized you are in the US, and i am in France, so i will check on again later ,time differences,

  2. Yikes!  Please, no more Frenchmen!  :)

  3. The cost is minimal, just get a marriage license of your girlfriend at the French Embassy and you can already marry.
