  1. i dont think you can be dual citizen. before i became the citizen of the US, i must give up my citizenship of my country.

  2. You can become a dual citizen if the laws of the OTHER country allow you to do that. America will always treat you as if this is your only citizenship.

  3. start bly going to

www.travel.state.gov  and find spain on there.

first like all natoins you must apply to be able to a legal perm. resident first then apply for citizenship.

but as someome noted go see the info on the state dept site. they may not allow dual citizenship.

  4. I am a Triple national myself and find it quite light to carry

  5. If you are a US Citizen, you can not have a dual citizenship.  If you are a spanish citizen and become an American citizen, it is up to spain whether you give up your citizenship in that country.

  6. You may be giving up voting rights. Try Spains embassy here in DC for your answers.

    Personally I wouldnt do it.

  7. Spain allows dual citizenship only in some cases ,

    SPAIN :

    Spain (only in certain cases)

so you may have to contact the consulat nearest you to find out if you may obtain citizenship .

Spain does not recognize dual citizenship, but it cannot do anything

if USA continues to consider you a citizen, which it does in most

cases these days, especially with native born Americans (you), unless

they specifically declared that they give up their US citizenship.

    NOTE :

WHO ARE SPANISH BY MEANS OF ORIGIN?

2.People born in Spain of foreign parents, if at least one parent was also born in Spain (Children of Diplomats and Consuls accredited in Spain are not included)

    3. People born in Spain of foreign parents if neither of them has Spanish nationality or if neither of the parents' legislations confer a nationality to their children

    4. People born in Spain and whose filiation is not determined. Regarding this point, underaged whose first known residence place is in Spain, are considered as born in the country.
