No, you will still have to wait until you have been a resident for 5 years, in your case.

The requirement of 5 years is reduced to 3 years if married to a US citizen, but you have to have been married to that person for 3 years.

No, you will have to wait one more year.  Citizenship is something you earn after filing appropriate paperwork (form N-400) paying fees and passing an interview, it is not automatically granted to a person after marriage to a US citizen.

Yep, even if you marry you have to wait one more year. But since you are already a resident and getting married 12 months will pass by in no time. And when go to apply the fact that you have been a resident and married to a US citizen will mean that the process will be super easy.

I have just got my visa to move to the US... I married a US citizen over 5 years ago and she has been living with me in the UK.

Do you have a green card yet or are you over there on a visa?

The general rule as far as I'm lead to believe is that if you get married to a US citizen, you will have to wait for 2 years to get your green card. After which, you can apply for citizenship after 3 years (so 5 years total).

If you have your green card already, you may already have done the 3 years qualifying time.
