I am a Walton?

Question

Okay well i am a Walton and I find it weird that both of my familys come from really popular last names...

Dads side - Walton

~Sam Walton

~Walton family (t.v. show)

~Walmart...

Moms side - Montillio

~Montillios bakery (grandfather was owner)

Does anyone else find this very weird?

No.  I do not find it weird.  I also don't find it very interesting either.

Which one is your dad?Rob? Jim? My folks knew Sam and Helen although they knew Sam better.

Though that is something interesting worth passing along, it is not necessarily surprising.  Obviously there was something either in genetics or in social breeding that disposed your parents to be more likely to meet, like each other, and have you.  Both sides of my family were refugees from Eastern Europe.  The way they raised their families, the social structure of "The Old Country" and their particular societal caste put my parents together at the right time and place.

This carries over from ancient times when it was not just unlikely, but almost impossible that the peasant class would intermarry with royalty.  Though we don't have that kind of system, our system of finding mates has remained similar.  Thus, I can guess that because on one side of my family I have Ukrainian Cossack heritage, most likely I have Magyar warrior blood on the other side of the line.

As much as we say that opposites attract, I think that it is more common that similarities do.
