How do u read it off the ground? How do you know if its going to bounce or not? What are some good drills to practice blocking the ball?

  1. Get your body in front of the ball.  Don't try to reach across your body with a backhand to try to get the ball.  Move your body and square up your torso to the ball.  It will seem weird for awhile to throw your body in front of a flying bullet, but you have padding, it won't hurt.

  2. yeah tell your ******** of a coach to coach you and show you how to block the ball!

  3. drop to your knees look at the ball put your glove between your legs on the ground and arch your back forward so when the ball hits you it will go into the ground instead of up.

to practise have someone throw you some in the dirt if you afraid of the ball use tennis balls at first then use soft baseballs then some real baseballs

  4. If you've ever played infield, it's like judging a ground ball, in a way. Sometimes the spin on the ball will tell you which way it will bounce. As long as you get your body down, and keep your eye on the ball, you should be able to block plenty of ground pitches.

  5. Dat happened 2 me wen I was like 12 now im 14 n I just try 2 copy as much as I can how da pros do it... I watch da Detroit Tigers all da time never miss a game n wen pudge catches he jus put his body in front of da ball n get on ur knees dnt forget 2 close dem...wen it hit da floor it already dropped like at least 20 or 30 mph wen it u put da mitten on da ground is jus goin climb up ur mitten n hit ur face mask but if it hops high jus get ur chest in front like 1 feet n dnt let i go pass up...

  6. My tip is to ask your coach how he wants you to do it. That's what you're both there for.
