  1. Do you really think your religion and race matter?  Surely they aren't allowing people in based on that information!

Best bet:  check with your local Italian Consulate or Embassy.  Whatever is closer.  They should be able to give you the most accurate information.

  2. I assume you'll need to work while you're living here. Generally, for a work visa, you will have to have a job before you go. The company has to file with the government and receive paperwork which is then provided to you for your visa application.

If you're an EU citizen, you have the right to move and work anywhere within the EU although there may be some minor bureaucratic hoops to go through for residency. However, it's much more difficult if you're from outside the EU.

There's visa information for Italy here: http://www.esteri.it/visti/home_eng.asp

    http://www.workpermit.com/italy/italy.ht...

Jobs are not easy to come by here in Europe if you're not a European citizen. The paperwork burden on the company makes it not worth there while to attempt to hire outside the EU. Further, there are quotas for foreign workers every year and more applicants that openings. You need to have special skills not readily available here to get permission. However, as a Canadian, you could get a working holiday visa and be able to come over for a visit, work while here, and make some contacts that might help for an eventual long term move.

Don't expect it to be easy. A good place to research this type of move is the expat community websites in the countries you're interested in. I moved here to Italy several years ago, but it was a transfer within the company I already worked for. Some include:

    http://www.expattalk.com/

    http://www.expatfocus.com/expatriate-ita...

    http://www.alloexpat.com/moving_to_italy...

    http://www.expatforum.com/expats/italy-e...

    http://www.expatfocus.com/expatriate-ita...

You can find similar sites for any country by entering "expat" and the name of the country in your favorite search engine.

  3. Check your nearest embassy.

You need paper work and alot of it.  It also depends in what you want to do.  You need to apply for the visa at home.  If you want to become a citizen it will most likely take 3 years to do so.  I would say to go to the embassy they have all that you need.

  4. If you're an EU national, you can live and work anywhere you want within the European Union.

If you're not, it would depend less on your colour and religion and more on your nationality.

  5. actually right now it's not a good time to immigrate in italy....they are making many lows which are totally disgusting
